Today, Stanley, the long standing Widewater Mute Swan was buried in the beautiful, peaceful woods by Gina’s lake.

He passed away peacefully on Thursday on the lake, almost certainly of old age.

Hilda was nearby drifting on the lake and came to see me. She seemed calm and peaceful too and I’m sure that she understands that her mate has gone. She will grieve for her life long partner and only time will tell what she will do next. Thanks to the kindness of Gina, Stanley had a beautiful place to end his days and he will live on in our hearts.
