Following recent observations regarding the behaviour of dogs and their owners on the Widewater, it was noted that more signage and policing of the Lagoon would be beneficial to raise awareness of the ‘DOGS ON LEADS’ rule and the ‘CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOG’ one.
There have been many occasions of dogs worrying the Wildfowl and in some cases attacking and injuring them.
It is worth mentioning that the Public Space Protection Orders (PSPO) in place here now mean that OFFENCES CAN LEAD TO PROSECTION.
The good news is that Helen Plant, Clerk to the Lancing Parish Council has managed to increase the 2018/19 budget by £500 to go towards addressing this situation and Mike Barnard representing the Dog Warden will be at our 21st Anniversary Celebrations.
