2025 Lancing Parish Council Volunteer Group Of The Year

0n 12th March at the LPC Community Awards Evening, W.o.W was honoured to receive a Community Award in recognition of all the work that we do collectively, to support, care for, protect and promote our wonderful Nature Reserve.

It was a lovely occasion and very heartwarming to hear about other local Community groups who also received well deserved awards for the fantastic work that they do in the Community.

A very big thank you to all the LPC team and to our local LPC Councillors for their commitment, help and support for Widewater LNR and for putting on such an enjoyable event.

The exciting Plans and Consultation for a new Visitor Centre at Widewater replacing the dilapidated Information Booth, were launched and displayed. The building is sympathetically designed to blend in with the Nature Reserve and will be of great use and enhancement to Widewater, the Community and visitors.

It will provide shelter for people to sit and enjoy the Wildlife and Birds from the viewing windows, be a base for groups visiting for Nature Activities such as our local schools and a display area for photos and information and more!

A Consultation leaflet will soon be distributed to local residents with information and the opportunity to share your views. The plans will also be on display at Lancing Parish Hall for six weeks.
