WOW members were joined by 16 students and their teachers for the annual Brighton College Make a Difference Day where students go out into the community to help with various projects.
We have had the pleasure of a group of wonderful, strong , hard working girls helping to control invasive species at Widewater for the last eight years.
This job certainly does make a difference as by controlling invasive species, the native species have room to flourish here.
This year we removed a large area of invasive Ivy and Brambles that are spreading out from the bank on to the vegetated shingle.
The sun was shining on us and we had a very enjoyable day. Lunch in a garden on the lagoon was fun with the resident Swan family visiting along with various Ducks and Gulls.
