Our breeding pair are busy mating and we are hopeful that they will breed successfully again this year. Having chased all the other “interlopers” away including the lone juvenile and their own 5 juveniles, 4 of their own have returned! They are being chased away again and go they must! The natural place for them to be is with the flock of other juvenile swans on the river Adur where they will mature and eventually pair up to find breeding territories of their own.
It’s important NOT to feed them at this stage as they will try to stay and the parents will become very aggressive towards them even trying to drown them if they won’t go! Garry has put up information signs at the west end where they are hanging around as a few people seem to be continuing to feed them there.
