Summer Litter Pick Up

Litter Pick Up July 17

Great Turn Out for the Summer Litter Pick Up!

Twenty volunteers turned up for our July litter pick up round the Widewater last week, including our 2 younger generation conservationists joining us for the second time and doing a grand job!

Around 30 kilos of litter was collected and with such a big group , we swept along the lagoon in just an hour!

Prizes for the most unusual litter found went to the children for a soggy towel! and Marion Wood received a prize for finding a £10 note! Marion kindly donated it to WOW funds. If it was yours, I’m afraid it’s too late to claim it now!!!

A huge thanks to all who helped and to the wonderful Ian Brereton for organising it all.

  1. I joined in the clean up at Widewater and I enjoyed the fresh air.
I may have come second in the unusual item competition with a brown tray and silver
(coloured) teaspoon. Please post on the website when the next clean up is and I will try to come down again.
