The Worlds Biggest Beach Clean

Georgina Stevens and a helper have organised a beach litter clearance on Sunday 4th March (meeting 9.45 at Widewater Car park, and 10.15 at the Old Fort) which they are naming  “The Worlds Biggest Beach Clean’. Georgina anticipates that there will be a large turn out including 150 Brownies.

Infinity Foods and Higgity Foods are providing refreshments, also local companies/shops are providing environmentally friendly goodie bags.   Georgina stated that the idea is gaining momentum and is becoming a very big affair with a few Celebrities attending.

The aim is that 1/2 will start at the Widewater Lagoon and 1/2 at the Old Fort, meeting at Beach Green for refreshments, all will be invited to make a giant whale from the rubbish collected and to spell out ACT NOW on the beach. The aim is that photos and video will be taken of the crowd and the whale, which will be uploaded to the web hopefully to go viral. The aim is to get the message across that we can all make a difference to protect our environment, no matter how small.

If you are free I know you will be very welcome, it certainly sounds like a fun, very worthwhile venture.
