2019 Widewater New Year Bird Walk

Leader – Tony Benton

Widewater Lagoon is an important refuge for wild birds, especially in the winter months. And on the 12 January between 11 am and 12.30 pm there is an opportunity to learn more about the birds that call the lagoon home. There will be gulls and ducks to identify and magnificent swans to admire. And there will be help on hand to help beginners and experts alike enjoy the wildlife that is almost literally on people’s doorsteps.

The event is open to everybody and is free of charge. Meet at the small kiosk at the entrance to the car park, accessed via West Beach Road, at 11 am, dress warmly, and meet other people that enjoy the benefits of nature in an urban environment. There is a charge for using the car park.

If you have binoculars then please bring them. There will be telescopes to use, and lots of friendly help and advice.

We look forward to seeing you there:
